Wednesday, February 25, the Marriott Hotel will open to the public. Particularly suitable for business meetings, conferences and events, with the most modern facilities in the city (5 rooms with a plenary hall for 500 people and divisible into 3 rooms) it will be able to accommodate all the social special events (weddings, graduation, private party). A grand opening is scheduled for June 2015, when all the services and spaces will be in full operation.

Located in the heights of Turgeau the Marriott Hotel of Port-au-Prince a few minutes from the city center, between the Champ de Mars and Petionville. This Hotel 5 Hibiscus, 10 storeys includes 175 rooms, 5 suites, 5 meeting rooms, restaurant (with private dining room), a fitness center, a swimming pool, a room service round the clock, secure parking and Wi-Fi.

The Marriott Hotel, built according to the high-end hotel group cost nearly $45 million. This hotel is the result of a partnership between Digicel, Marriott International and the Clinton Global Initiative.

It is the Digicel Group which is responsible for the design and construction of the hotel, through "Kier" the main construction firm selected for the project and it's "Marriott Hotels & Resorts" which will exercise operating under a long term management contract.

The advantage brought by Marriott Haiti in terms of service, it is its own management. Indeed, the hotel is managed by the Marriott group itself, providing quality service to the Marriott label standards. So Marriott Haiti's customers will be able to receive the same service and the same attention as in any other Marriott worldwide.

At the head of the hotel, a management team composed primarily of professionals with long experience in the Marriott chain, foreign and Haitian diaspora (8%). There notably 60% of women in executive positions at Marriott Haiti, including two Haitian women Sharon Sylhomme, to the Financial Directorate, and Edwidge Solages in the Human Resources Directorate, and a French Elsa Sammartano in the Marketing and Sales Directorate.

Marriott Haiti is staffed 99% of Haitians including supervisory positions. The company also places emphasis on training by encouraging its employees to continue to learn outside of their working time by providing free online courses and a computer lab. Once in the group, it is a local or international career that awaits them.
