Monday, Olivier Jean the Director General of the National Office of Civil Aviation (OFNAC) in the presence of Irving Mehu, Director General of the National Airport Authority (AAN), Senator Hervé Foucand Lenin, President of the Commission des Public Works in the Senate and other stakeholders in the aeronautical and maritime sectors, has inaugurated a Rescue and Coordination Center (RCC) considered as one of the most sophisticated in the Caribbean Region

In his speech of circumstance, Olivier Jean underlined that this ultra-modern Center, will allow via satellite, to receive the signal of the apparatus in distress and to locate it immediately.

Recalling that despite advances in aircraft technology and manufacturing, as well as pilot expertise, accidents remain a challenge and a major concern. The inauguration of this infrastructure has filled a gap that Haiti has been facing since 1951. According to him, research and innovation are key to tomorrow's prosperity, while stressing the need for the state to endow the aeronautics sector with tools to the extent of its ambitions.

This project, which lasted about two years, estimated at more than 200,000 US dollars, was financed by OFNAC.
