Haiti - Environment : Big sanitation campaign of the streets of Les Cayes

Friday in Les Cayes, Jean Marc Chérisier Departmental Director of Environment of the South of the Ministry in the presence of Etienne France Deputy Mayor of the city of Les Cayes and Cham Pierre Duquella Departmental Director South of the Ministry of Public Works launched a campaign to clean up the streets and proceeded to the deployment of more than sixty environmental agents from all the communes of the department.

"The process of environmental protection requires the involvement of all sectors [...] which explains the participation of other institutions in this initiative [...] As for these agents, they will always there to accompany the population," said Director Chérisier.

As the first environmental agents in the South Department, Director Cherisier led the streets cleansing campaign, alongside environmental agents, local authorities, local residents and young people.

Brushes, shovels, rakes and bouettes in hand, they cleaned a few streets in the city of Les Cayes such as the Boulevard des Quatres Chemins, Grande-rue and Brefette.
