Haiti - Tourism : Official reopening of the Royal Decameron

Saturday August 1, Myriam Jean, the Minister of Tourism, proceeded to cut the ribbon followed by a site visit, marking the relaunch of the activities of the Royal Decameron-Indigo Beach Resort on the Côte des Arcadins, closed since the month of April due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Accompanied by the Secretary of State for Public Security, Tacite Toussaint, the Mayor of Montrouis, Blaise Élisée, the Delegate of Artibonite, Amisial Jean Osner, the President of the Haitian Tourist Association (ATH) Raina Forbin and Fernando Garcia Regional Director of Decameron, Minister Jean was greeted by the owners of the hotel, sisters Béatrice and Véronique Nadal, who were accompanied by Sales Manager Brice Dumanois.

During her visit to the hotel, the Minister attended a demonstration of the disinfection of rooms and luggage on arrival of customers at the Décameron.

This weekend marks a turning point in the relaunch of tourist activities on the coast, and consequently of the economic revival of the sector which has experienced lean times since the year 2019 strongly disrupted by socio-political unrest, underlined the Minister Jean who committed that the Ministry giving all its support to beach hotels and residents of the coast, but also and above all to ensure respect for the health protocol developed by the Government and the ATH as part of the fight against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Minister’s visit began with a welcome show and ended with lunch.
