On Friday March 26 at a press conference, Dikel Delvariste, the Director General of the National Institute for Vocational Training (INFP) made several announcements on the progress of construction works and finalization of Vocational Training Centers and on the installation of staff at the Centers already completed.

The opportunity also to symbolically hand over a few letters of appointment to Trainers who will have to instill in learners the basics of Vocational and Technical Training, a permanent visa for the labor market.

These announcements concerned :

Center of Saint-Martin (Delmas) :

The reconstruction work on this Center (destroyed by the 2010 earthquake) which was temporarily relocated to the Pilot Center, is nearing completion https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-21956-icihaiti-training-reconstruction-of-the-saint-martin-learning-center.html The slowness of the works is caused by the chaotic situation in the area, taken hostage in political conflicts and insecurity instrumentalised.

Center of Wharf Jérémie (Cité Soleil) :

This Center, located in a stigmatized district (Comune of Cité Soleil) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16457-haiti-reconstruction-inauguration-of-socio-community-infrastructures-in-cite-soleil.html will operate very soon at full capacity and will fully play its role of social integration for marginalized young people, with the appointment of missing professors (nomination process estimated at 67%) as well as the regularization of trainees in the teaching staff.

Meyotte Training Center (Pétion-ville) :

Dikel Delvariste recalled "It is not only the interns of the Wharf Jérémie Center whose files were taken into account, but that it was all the Centers of the various departments of the country (Miragoane, Coteaux, Cap-Haitien, Trou-du-Nord, Jacmel, Gonaïves, Mirebalais, Côte-de-Fer...) which benefited from the support of Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe and Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training.

In office since April 2020, Dikel Delvariste, far from being satisfied, humbly acknowledged that the situation has improved but also admitted that much remains to be done...
