Haiti - DR : New operation, the DGM arrests 174 Haitians in Ciudad Juan Bosch

Following the migration control operation carried out Friday, May 20, 2022 in Ciudad Juan Bosch (Santo Domingo) where 385 Haitians had been arrested, including 325 in an irregular migratory situation who were repatriated to Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-36720-haiti-news-zapping.html the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) in collaboration with the Dominican army and the national police (SWAT and anti-riots), conducted this week a new migration control operation at the Ciudad Juan Bosch (a large housing complex under construction), as part of the response to attacks against immigration officers and inspectors carried out by Haitian citizens in an irregular situation in this area under construction https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-36705-haiti-flash-illegal-haitians-attack-dominican-immigration-staff.html

During this new operation, 174 Haitians in an irregular situation were arrested and taken to the Haina Reception Center for verification of their status before repatriating to Haiti the illegal Haitians living on Dominican territory.

The DGM recalls that it will in no case tolerate foreigners in an irregular migratory situation, whatever their nationality, resisting and violently confronting the members of the institution which represents the authority of the State in matters of immigration.
