Haiti - Politic : D-3, The Crisis in Haiti on the agenda of the USA at the Summit of the Americas

As part of the Summit of the Americas to be held in Los Angeles (USA) from June 6 to 20, 2022, the United States will discuss the Haitian crisis with the leaders of the region confirmed Brian A. Nichols, Undersecretary of Deputy State for Western Hemisphere Affairs.

He said that the United States is focusing on several elements that can benefit the Haitian people, among which he cited access to health and migration issues "Access to health is part of these issues, changes in our way of approaching certain economic issues, obviously migration, which is an area in which we must do more to support and engage Haiti, there are many interesting things in this area," Nichols said at a press conference called by the US State Department.

Regarding the presence of Venezuela and Cuba at the Summit, Brian A. Nichols clarified that the list of invitees was not yet closed and that he would announce the final list very soon, which includes not only presidents, but also observers and other leaders. Note that Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry was officially invited to this Summit.
