Haiti - Politic : The Ministry of Commerce encourages women to get involved in the technology sector 11/07/2022 10:19:59
The 5th edition of the International Summit of Women evolving in Digital in Haiti, which was organized by the young Chamber of Commerce of Women Entrepreneurs of Haiti (CCFEH), under the high patronage of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, took place in the presence of various national and international institutions including the United Nations Development Program (UNDP-Haiti), the American Agency for International Development (USAID-Haiti), the Investment Facilitation Center (CFI), the Embassy of Taiwan (Republic of China), the CCFEH and a large number of participating women entrepreneurs. Ricardin Saint-Jean, the Minister of Trade and Industry in his speech insisted on the need to work for the emergence of new generations of women capable of setting an example by engaging in professions of the future. The Minister stressed that this Summit reaffirms the Government's desire to open up to women all the possibilities of exploring the various opportunities that can allow their real integration into the technological sectors "We are required to do everything so as to define and promote solutions to facilitate the access of our women to digital technology, skills and entrepreneurship." Minister Saint-Jean believes that the participation of the many women present at this Summit is a shining demonstration of their aspiration, their desire to engage in the digital sectors and their desire to participate in the national momentum towards collective growth. "We must encourage them, support them, support them by providing them with the tools that will allow them to increase, each day more, their participation and above all to fully play a tangible role in Haiti's digital shift." The Minister noted the continuous efforts of his Ministry, in partnership with international donors, to strengthen women's entrepreneurship throughout the national territory "These efforts are evidence of the Government's determination to work to reduce the country's gender inequalities, access to financial empowerment, investment and economic activities that generate both jobs and the wealth necessary for growth and development," affirming the participants of their unconditional support of his ministry.
