Haiti - FLASH : Address to the Nation, the PM talks about elections and rising fuel prices (Video)

Sunday evening September 11, 2022, in his address to the Nation on the general situation of the country, Prime Minister Ariel Henry took, among other things, the commitment to put the country in electoral mode before the end of 2022... specifying "[...] The time is over when one can attack power and impose one's will on the Haitian people by force. It is incumbent on all those who want to play a political role to prepare to seek popular consecration at the ballot box [...]"

Ariel Henry also announced the upcoming adjustment of the prices of petroleum products at the pump, currently subsidized by the State to the tune of more than 50 billion gourdes...

The Prime Minister affirmed that the State will launch social appeasement programs and mobilize 3 billion Gourdes for this purpose...

He also recalled that the State loses more than 600 million US dollars each year at customs in Port-au-Prince, or 75 billion gourdes, due to corruption and smuggling...
