Paul Saint Preux, Secretary General of the National Teacher Corps of Haiti (CONEH) deplores and condemns the opening of some schools before the official date of the new school year "...We have no power and authority to prevent it, but we denounce it, [...] we observed that there are schools that are already open and there is another group that will open in October, we condemn it, because we should not have a school at different speeds..."

Jackson Pleteau, Director of Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education said that officials of the Ministry will verify the information that some schools have decided to open their doors before the official date of October 3, set by the Government and decide what action to take.

For his part, Josué Mérilien Head of the "Union Nationale des Normaliens Haïtiens" (UNNOH) during a debate held last Friday on the theme "the Back to school in Haiti 2011-2012, on background of crisis, major issues, perspectives and solutions" found that the free education promised by the Head of State, can not happen [in good condition], without taking into account the improvement of living conditions of teachers and increase the number of public schools in the country. He also denounced the reopening of some schools before the official date and demanded the publication of the law on school fees before the new school year
