Brazil : PM congratulates President Lula

"I congratulate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva [77 years old], on the occasion of his re-election [1st time 2003-2011] as President of the Federative Republic of Brazil. I would like to send him, on behalf of my Government and the Haitian people, my wishes for success in this new mission, while hoping for the strengthening of relations of friendship and solidarity between Haiti and Brazil."

USA and China discuss the situation in Haiti

The Secretary of State of the United States (USA), Antony Blinken, spoke by telephone with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Wang Yi, with whom he discussed, among other things, the humanitarian situation and deteriorating security situation in Haiti.

Latortue against any foreign intervention

Youri Latortue, National Coordinator of the Ayiti Ann Aksyon (AAA) party, confirms having expressed to the Canadian delegation his disapproval of foreign intervention in the country and pleaded preferably for technical assistance to the National Polici8e d'Haiti (PNH) and to the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) so that they can dismantle the gangs.

BRH : Automated Transfer System

The Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) with the accompaniment of "Montran Corp.", organized a training which ended on October 27 for executives from the operational departments of commercial banks on the Automated Transfer System (ATS). At the opening of this training, Governor Jean Baden Dubois intervened to recall the importance of this system which will ensure in real time the settlement of banking transactions on the one hand and on the other hand the electronic clearing of checks.

The Spanish Embassy condemns

The Embassy of Spain in Haiti is appalled by the death of journalist Tess Garry (Radio Lebon FM) and by the attack on journalist Roberson Alphonse https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-37976-haiti-flash-attempted-kidnapping-and-assassination-of-journalist-roberson-alphonse.html , to whom she wishes a speedy recovery. Spain strongly condemns the criminal acts in Haiti and publicly reaffirms its firm support for freedom of the press, an essential element in the construction of any functioning democracy.

South-East : Plan International signs 2 agreements

Plan International Haiti and the Association of Journalists of the Southeast (AJSE) have signed two partnership agreements. The first for the promotion of human rights more particularly the rights of girls in the media of the South-East. The second with the Haitian Movement for Rural Development (MHDR) for the socio-economic empowerment of young people in the Southeast. The duration of its two agreements is three years.
