Arrest of an influential member of Savien's gang

An influential member of the Savien gang network (Artibonite) bearing the name of Jean Sylvain, (27), from Grande Saline, has been arrested in Moreau Douette, a locality in Petite-Rivière de l'Artibonite by a patrol of Saint Mark's Police.

The WFP has helped 89,000 people in 30 days

The World Food Program (WFP) provided emergency assistance to more than 89,000 vulnerable people in November 2022: distribution of 99,000 hot meals to displaced families and to Cholera Treatment Centers (CTC); distribution of 615 metric tons of food and more than 588,000 US dollars transferred to the most needy.

AIDS among young Haitians aged 15-19 highest in the region

In Haiti, the HIV/AIDS prevalence rate among young people aged 15-19 is 2%. This is the highest rate in the region. To reverse the trend, UNICEF sensitizes adolescents and young people, girls and boys, on methods of prevention against HIV/AIDS.

Literary creation workshop

The Reading and Cultural Animation Center (CLAC) of Gros Morne organized a literary creation workshop, in support of the "Ti moun Zanmi Pyebwa" Association. The animation was provided by the poet Douglas Zamor. About twenty young people were able to participate and enjoy this unique space of artistic and literary creation.

Artibonite : Installation of a new Divisional Commissioner

Saturday, December 3, 2022, Inspector General Joany Canéus Central Director of the Administrative Police proceeded to the installation of the Divisional Commissioner Bruce Myrthil at the head of the Departmental Directorate of Artibonite. He replaces the Divisional Commissioner Ralph Dominique in this position.
