Carnivals 2023

The dates for carnival in Haiti this year are February 19, 20 and 21. Since January 16, 2023, some cities, including Port-au-Prince, have launched the pre-carnival festivities. Monday, February 6, the town hall of Port-au-Prince announced that the carnival will have the theme "Rekonsilyasyon pou lapè". The parade will run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to facilitate wide participation of children. Concerning the financing of carnivals, Émmelie Prophète Milcé, the Minister of Culture said it was not the State that organized the carnivals "each town hall will organize its own carnival [as in 2022]". Note that the Government has not yet announced its decision on the holding of the National Carnival this year.

Death of Judge Eddy Darang
