Haiti - Education : The Ministry's 7 priority projects in 2024

In line with the policy and strategic framework documents, the decisions taken in 2023 and with the idea of consolidating the actions of the past year, the Ministry of National Education announces its 7 priority projects for 2024.

1 - Construction of 20 national schools and high schools in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince. Acceleration of the separation of basic secondary schools, a necessary condition for the implementation of the new Curricular Orientation Framework. Construction of a new premises for the Training Center for Basic Education (CFEF) with a national application school (preschool and fundamental);

2 - Allocation of the Unique School Identification Number to students, Accreditation of schools and Certification of teachers;

3 - Gradual alignment with the Curricular Orientation Framework (COC) Compulsory preschool, multilingualism, gradual generalization of the skills-based approach, updating of study programs, new evaluation system;

4 - Production and free distribution of 1 million "single books" in Creole for the 3rd and 4th fundamental Years. Reading, national cause;

5 - Gradual replacement of teachers and technical managers who have abandoned the sector;

6 - Acceleration of recruitment and training of teachers for new Fundamental and Secondary subjects. Compensation for learning, including Educational Radio Television;

7 - Extension of the experimentation of the technical baccalaureate through Technical High Schools, including Agricultural Technical High Schools linked to the school canteen based on local products.
