Friday June 28, 2024, Luis Almagro, Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) during the closing of the 54th regular session of the OAS General Assembly, asked the international community for greater commitment towards Haiti, which is facing an unprecedented crisis marked by gang violence.

Almagro acknowledged that achieving the restoration of Peace in Haiti "will take time", emphasizing, a work that begins with the arrival this week of the first contingent of 400 Kenyan soldiers from the Multinational Mission to Support the National Police of Haiti ( PNH) in its fight against armed gangs.
