On Monday, July 29, 2024, Presidential Advisor Smith Augustin, back in Haiti, presented during a press briefing, the results of his official trip to France from July 25 to 29, 2024.

During his stay in France, Advisor Smith met with President Emmanuel Macron to discuss France's support for Haiti in terms of security.

In addition, he had meaningful exchanges with several Heads of State and Government as well as with leaders of international organizations, with the aim of strengthening Haiti's relations with international partners ready to help the country in its reconstruction.

He also thanked for their support and renewed confidence, all those who supported him in the BNC affair. He firmly rejected these allegations, calling them politically motivated attacks with ulterior motives.
