Armored vehicle set on fire, clarification from the PNH

The Haitian National Police (PNH) would like to clarify regarding the images circulating on social networks showing that armed individuals from the "400 Mawozo" gang captured, looted and set fire to a PNH armored vehicle on Sunday, August 4th in the morning in Ganthier. The PNH would like to clarify to the public that this armored vehicle had broken down and been parked for some time and was not engaged in police operations. Should be noted that the "400 Mawozo" gang took control of the customs offices, which they looted and set fire to, forcing the police to retreat in the face of a force superior in numbers and weapons.
