"Each week, the Government will communicate the key figures of a sector. While we begin the audit and recapitalization of human resources, of competitions will be organized throughout the country to recruit on merit about 8,000 young men and women, either to replace employees who have left, are absent, retired, or to regularize several contracts with a good profile, within the limits of the State budget," informed Prime Minister Garry Conille yesterday Thursday, at the publication of the first key figures.

The workforce of the civil service is 103,545 civil servants (appointed persons), the average age is 42.5 years (weighting 18-75 years). The distribution of men and women is 71% and 29% for women, a reality unchanged since 2019. The distribution of public agents by age group is as follows : 35-55 years 64%, 55-65 years 17.4%, 18-35 years 13.6% and over 65 years ~5%.

The State has lost approximately 4,000 public agents from October 2023 to July 2024.

50% of the State's operating budget goes to salaries. 80% is paid by check, 20% by transfer. 37,000 Gourdes and the average salary of civil servants, this amount was 40,000 Gourdes in 2019.
