A police officer killed, another injured

On Monday, September 23, 2024, a police officer from the 18th promotion Pierre-Louis Dieuné was killed and another injured, in Delmas 19, by armed individuals who were aboard a suspicious minibus. They opened fire on the two police officers who were chasing the minibus after the driver refused to stop at a checkpoint.

3 days of national mourning

The Government has declared 3 days of national mourning (September 23, 24 and 25, 2024) in memory of those who died in the tanker truck explosion on September 14 in Miragoâne https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43214-haiti-flash-the-death-toll-rises-79-victims-including-26-dead.html . The funeral will be sung on Wednesday, September 25, announced the municipal authorities of Miragoâne. DGI employees on strike

On Monday, September 23, 2024, employees of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) launched a work stoppage. They are demanding a wage adjustment and social benefits. The strike will continue until their demands are met, the strikers say.

Brazil stands with Haiti

COH : Organized Sports Administration Training

Three representatives of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF): Kenicks Dorémé, Kathiana A. Prévilon and Michelle Vanessa Jean, took part in a sports administration training organized by the Haitian Olympic Committee (COH) from September 18 to 20, 2024. This initiative aimed to strengthen skills in this key area, which will allow our representatives to share the knowledge acquired with athletes, employees and managers of sports clubs.
