20 Haitians killed every day

The latest figures documented by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, published Friday, September 27, 2024, reveal that at least 3,661 people were killed during the first half of this year (20 per day), representing the highest level of violence observed since 2023.

Rout of bandits in Saut d'eau and Mirebalais

Fritzner Suprême, head of epidemiology and head of the rabies analysis laboratory in the Center department, reveals that 10 cases of animal rabies were recorded during this week. As part of World Rabies Day in Haiti this Friday, September 27, Dr. Oscar Barreneche, PAHO/WHO Representative in Haiti, reaffirmed his organization's support to the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Agriculture to achieve the goal of eliminating rabies by 2030. WHO in Haiti plans to support the Ministry in a vaccination campaign targeting 400,000 dogs in three departments of the country.
