Haiti - Politic : Challenges of the aeronautics sector in Haiti

At the initiative of Emmanuel Vertilaire, executive member of the Transition Council, a meeting took place last week between the members of the Council, Raphaël Hosty, the Minister of Public Works, and Lieutenant Colonel Laurent Joseph, Director General of the National Office of Civil Aviation (OFNAC).

The objective of this meeting was to discuss the challenges of the aeronautics sector in Haiti.

The members of the Transition Council expressed their concerns about the increase in airfare prices and the lack of competition in the sector. The Transition Council also called for facilitating the integration of new airlines to offer more options to Haitian travelers.

OFNAC is committed to improving the regulation of the sector and working to ensure that the system meets international standards, while supporting the opening of the market to new players.
