Mass deportation : The Ministry of Health mobilized

Following a high-level meeting organized by the Presidential Transitional Council and the Government, concerning the mass deportation of Haitians living in an irregular migratory situation on Dominican territory, the Ministry of Public Health is intensifying its efforts to respond to this situation and remains resolutely mobilized to provide dignified health support to our compatriots. The health directorates of the North, Center and Southeast are both present and mobilized at the three main return points for the expelled : Ouanaminthe, Belladère and Anse-à-Pitre.

Aid for displaced persons with disabilities

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID - Haiti) via its humanitarian assistance office, organized an event for persons with disabilities. 125 disabled people, displaced due to violence, received medical and psychosocial assistance, kits and food.

SJM condemns the dehumanization of deportations

The Jesuit Migrant Service (SJM), a social apostolate organization of the Society of Jesus, strongly condemns the abuse, violence and injustice suffered by Haitian nationals during the mass deportations from the Dominican Republic. "We firmly denounce the dehumanization suffered by these men, women and children deported at the border. The brutal and undignified practices contrary to human rights and to the agreements signed between Haiti and the Dominican Republic constitute a flagrant affront to human dignity."

Consulates and Embassy closed

Atlanta :

The Consulate General of Haiti in Atlanta informs the Haitian community that its offices will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2024, on the occasion of "Columbus Day". Activities will resume on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 9:00 a.m.

Canada :

The Embassy of Haiti in Canada informs the Haitian community and the general public that its premises will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2024 on the occasion of Thanksgiving. Activities will resume on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
