Arcahaie : 21,770 displaced people

Between October 10 and 26, 2024, at least 21,770 people were forced to flee their homes in Arcahaie, particularly in the 1st Boucassin section, due to the intensification of acts of violence, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). 63% of them found refuge with relatives in host families and 37% in 10 sites created following this violence. The majority of people left the 1st Boucassin section to seek refuge in other localities in the commune of Arcahaie (92%), 7% left for that of Anse à Galets and the rest for that of Saint Marc.

Solino : Formal denial by the PNH

Lionel Lazarre, Deputy Spokesperson for the National Police of Haiti (PNH), denies reports that law enforcement withdrew from Solino in the face of advances by the "Viv Ansanm" gangs. "The police are still present in Solino and are controlling certain strategic axes to prevent the bandits from advancing and entering Nazon and Christ the King," said Lionel Lazarre.

Leslie Voltaire meets with António Guterres

On Tuesday, October 29, on the sidelines of the Conference of the Parties in Colombia, Leslie Voltaire, President pro tempore of the Transitional Council, met with António Guterres, Secretary General of the UN. The topics discussed included security, the migration and humanitarian crisis, and strengthening international cooperation. The two men agreed on the need to accelerate the political transition towards holding elections. Guterres called on Haitian stakeholders to put aside their differences and work together for peace and security in Haiti and reiterated his support for Haiti's initiatives in the fight against insecurity.
