Artibonite : Marchand Dessalines and Petite-Rivière attacked

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in the morning, armed bandits carried out new attacks in several localities, in the communes of Marchand Dessalines and Petite-Rivière in Artibonite. About ten people were reportedly kidnapped and dozens of heads of cattle stolen by the thugs.

Cabaret Police Station completely razed

On Tuesday, October 29, armed individuals from Canaan completely razed the Cabaret Police Station, confirmed Joseph Janson Guillaume, the Mayor of the city, specifying that the bandits used heavy machinery to complete the demolition of the abandoned and already damaged building.

High tension in Petit-Goâve

On Wednesday, October 30, high tension reigned in Petit-Goâve where barricades of burning tires were erected in several streets of the city. The cause was a protest movement by some members of the population who denounced the installation of Jean Fritz Paterson Dorval as the new Government Commissioner of Petit-Goâve to replace Me Pierre Eliott Paul, transferred to the head of the Les Cayes Public Prosecutor's Office. About ten students were injured.

Foreign mercenaries in Haiti ?

Postponement of the working session scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, between the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) and Prime Minister Garry Conille on the presence of foreign security agents (mercenaries ?) in Haiti... The Prime Minister’s Office requested the postponement of this meeting until next week via a letter addressed to the General Secretariat of the CPT Presidency on a day set at the convenience of the Council.

According to information circulating, former Senator Edwin Zenny reportedly decided to leave the country to settle abroad. This decision is reportedly motivated by fear, nostalgia and disgust with the country’s management.

14th month salary

The Ministry of Communication informs that according to a report from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the process of paying the 14th month salary promised to civil servants by the Government is underway. Out of a total of 102,200 checks to be printed, 86,245 (84%) have already been delivered as of October 29, 2024. The payment of October salaries will begin immediately after the complete delivery of the 14th month checks.
