FLASH : CAVB closed for an indefinite period

Due to the security situation in Tabarre, the Visa Application Center for Brazil (CAVB) will be exceptionally closed this Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Gangs : Between 33% and 50% of members are under 18

The UN estimates that between a third and half of armed gang members are children, i.e. people under the age of 18.

Vivy Mitchel attacked, houses burned

On Monday, November 11, 2024, heavily armed individuals attacked Vivy Mitchel in the morning, setting fire to several houses. Haitian National Police (PNH) officers intervened to restore peace in this neighborhood.

Those who shot at the Spirit Airlines plane are terrorists

Closed Embassies

French Embassy :

The French Embassy in Haiti and consular services will be closed to the public tomorrow Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Mexican Embassy :

Due to possible violence planned for November 12, the Mexican Embassy in Haiti will remain closed. People with an appointment scheduled for November 12 can come on December 2 to be seen.

US Alert : Do not travel to Haiti

In a statement, the American Embassy in Port-au-Prince recommends not to travel to Haiti. "The security situation in Haiti is unpredictable and dangerous. Travel to Haiti is at your own risk. The United States Government cannot guarantee your safety when traveling to airports, at the borders, or on any subsequent travel. You should assess your personal safety situation before traveling to any part of Haiti. Do not attempt to leave Haiti or travel within Haiti unless you believe it is safe to do so."
