RN#1 Completely Blocked

On the evening of Friday, October 3rd, 2025, the population of Pont-Sondé launched a movement to completely paralyze activities in the region. National Road Number 1 (RN#1) is blocked. Dozens of barricades made of branches, rocks, tires, trestles, and vehicle wrecks have been erected over several kilometers, completely blocking traffic. These barricades are protected by protesting citizens who claim that the situation will return to normal when Savien's "Grand Grif" gang is dismantled by the authorities.

Laurent Saint-Cyr left Haiti with no return date

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Toussaint Louverture International Airport, Vladimir Paraison, Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian National Police (PNH), accompanied by members of the High Command, took part in the official departure ceremony for Laurent Saint-Cyr. President pro tempore and coordinator of the Presidential Transitional Council, alongside Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, Presidential Advisor Lesly Voltaire, the Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAD'H), and several senior government officials, accompanied Laurent Saint-Cyr before his departure for the United States, the first stop on a diplomatic tour that will also take him to Japan. No return date or purpose of his tour has been announced.

20 Police Stations Rehabilitated

"We are continuing our efforts to strengthen the presence and effectiveness of the police on the ground through the rehabilitation of five police stations in the North and the Palmes region (West). In total, more than 20 police stations have been rehabilitated in different regions of the country. With the support of Canada, the Organization of American States (OAS) has handed over these modernized infrastructure projects in Plaine-du-Nord, Limonade, Petit-Goâve, Grand-Goâve, and Léogâne, enabling the Haitian National Police (PNH) to strengthen its capacity for action, improve its operational conditions, and be closer to the communities it protects," reported Cristobal Dupouy, Special Representative of the OAS Secretary General in Haiti.

Security Situation in Cap-Haitien

On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the request of the Mayor of Cap-Haïtien, Angeline Bell, Deputy Mayor Isaac Pierre-Louis, and the Head of Partnership and External Cooperation, Charles-Philippe Bernoville, held an important meeting with Antonio Vitale of the European Union Delegation to Haiti, regarding the security situation in Cap-Haïtien and the presence of European expatriates in the northern region as part of their work.

UNAIDS Budget Cuts

Faced with UNAIDS' decision to significantly reduce its presence due to significant budget cuts by the Trump administration, Louis Gérald Gilles, Presidential Transition Advisor, held a meeting with a delegation from the Organization, led by Dr. Christian Mouala, as well as representatives of key institutions involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
