Minister for the Status of Women, Pedrica Saint Jean, visited the students benefiting from the project "Socio-economic Integration of Women and Single Mothers in Technical Professions, Traditionally Reserved for Men" at the SE POu Nou Ecole Professionnelle (SENOPEP) vocational school located in Vaudreuil, Cap-Haïtien.

During this visit, Minister Saint Jean offered words of encouragement to the students, outlining the program's objectives and the expected positive results. The graduating class also took the opportunity to appoint the Minister as their sponsor to ensure the successful completion of their professional careers.

Through this project, which embodies the Government's strong commitment to supporting women and child mothers with dignity, the Ministry is now paving the way for women in technical professions traditionally reserved for men, such as tilers, plumbers, solar panel installers, window technicians, building electricians, and others.

To this end, the Minister is continuing her commitment to the economic independence of women and child mothers and equal opportunities through this ambitious technical training program deployed in seven departments across the country.

It should be noted that this project, aimed at equipping women and child mothers with professions that can help them provide for themselves and their families in a difficult context, is exclusively funded by the Haitian government.
