Earthquake in Colombia : Message from the Prime Minister's Office

"The Government of the Republic of Haiti expresses its profound solidarity and fraternal compassion to the Government and people of the Republic of Colombia, who were severely affected [Monday, August 10] by the powerful earthquake [7.4 on the Richter scale] that struck several regions of the country [provisional toll : 164 dead, more than 570 injured, and 2,568 missing]. In these moments of pain and reflection, Haiti joins the Colombian people in mourning and hardship. The Government extends its sincerest condolences to the families of the victims and expresses its deep compassion to all those affected by this tragedy. [...] The Haitian Government wishes a speedy recovery to the injured, a swift return to security and peace in the affected regions, and reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with the Colombian people during these difficult times."

Arcahaie Attack : Failed

On Sunday, August 9, 2026, at least one person was killed and three others wounded in an attack carried out by armed individuals from Bercy against the town of Arcahaie, confirmed Wilner René, the town's mayor, on a radio station in the capital. The bandits attempted to barricade the RN#1 highway to advance toward the town, leading to an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement, stated the mayor, who praised the police mobilization that repelled the attempted incursion.

Journalist Métellus in Court

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) reminds leaders and representatives of political groups that the registration period for political groups is from August 10 to 14, 2026. 1 - Notarized articles of incorporation of the political party group, its statutes, and its objectives;

4 - Color copy of the valid National Identification Card (CIN) of the official representative or agent of the political party group;

5 - Acronym of the political party group;

6 - A clean CD or USB drive containing the emblem (logo) of the political party coalition. (The logo must be in JPEG format (opaque background) or PNG format (transparent background), 300 dpi, 2000 × 2000 pixels (for a square/round logo) or 3000 × 1200 pixels (for a horizontal logo).)

Cap-Haitien : Warning and Threats

Cap-Haitien: Anyone caught dumping waste on the shoreline or in any other unauthorized public space will be subject to heavy fines and legal proceedings in accordance with current legislation.
