Haiti - Massacre : The high command of the Haitian National Police (PNH) has gone to Kenscoff

On Monday, August 24, 2026, Vladimir Paraison, the Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), accompanied by several members of the High Command, visited the town of Kenscoff to assess the current situation following the attacks perpetrated there on the night of August 23-24 (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48290-haiti-flash-new-massacre-in-kenskoff-at-least-60-victims.html) and to reinforce security measures by deploying several specialized PNH units.

During this visit, Commander Paraison met with local authorities and the head of the Kenscoff police station. They discussed the situation and the necessary measures to improve security. He then gave instructions to increase the presence of several specialized PNH units in the affected areas.

Paraison took the opportunity to offer his condolences to the victims' families and reaffirm the police force's determination to identify and bring to justice all individuals involved in the criminal acts perpetrated in the area. To this end, he instructed the Central Director of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances of these attacks, particularly how armed individuals were able to infiltrate the heart of the Kenscoff commune. This investigation should enable the High Command of the Haitian National Police (PNH) to establish the truth (regarding complicity or negligence), identify all those involved, determine responsibility, and take appropriate legal action.
