Voter Registrations

The Provisional Electoral Council reports that after a very slow start in April and July (with a few hundred registrations per day), the volume increased sharply during August, with a total of 681,109 voters currently registered across the country. The 39-48 age group is the largest, with 151,747 registered voters, closely followed by the 29-38 age group with 149,222 registered voters. Young people aged 18-28 represent 114,095 individuals. Beyond age 48, voter turnout gradually decreases with age : 120,251 for the 49-58 age group, 88,136 for the 59-68 age group, and 57,658 for those 69 and over.

GSF : Ivorian Reinforcements Soon to Deploy to Haiti

Ivorian police and military personnel recently completed preparatory training in Côte d'Ivoire, organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), from August 17 to September 25. This training covered various aspects, including conditions for intervention in Haiti, armed operations in urban environments, and the dynamics of armed groups. These Ivorian personnel will soon join the Gang Repression Force (FRG) in Haiti.

Climate Finance

On the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Haiti continued its efforts to strengthen the country's access to climate finance and international technical assistance. Valéry Fils-Aimé, the Minister of the Environment, met with Mafalda Duarte, Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund, to discuss the development of bankable projects, strengthening national capacities, and mobilizing climate investments.

The U-17 Champions of the FHF Tournament:

Undefeated throughout the competition, Haiti's U-17 men's national team was crowned champion of the U-19 tournament organized by the Competitions Department of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF), winning the final 2-0 on Saturday, September 26, against LEG AZ in Saint-Louis de Gonzague.
