Simon Dieuseul Desras, the President of the Senate affirmed yesterday that he had not received any request from the Ministry of Justice concerning a possible request for a hearing of Senators Lambert and Benoît following the disturbances of March 8, initiated by their alarmist statements. Today, everything suggests that Michel Brunache, the Minister of Justice has not transmitted this request voluntarily, preferring a soft approach and avoid direct confrontation, conducive to the emergence of a new crisis.

Despite the absence of this legal procedure, the Minister Brunache hope the continuation of the investigation and appeals to the wisdom of Senator Joseph Lambert and Steven Benoît so that they voluntarily appear before the Commissioner of the Government...

An appeal that is unlikely to be favorably listen since the Senator Lambert, relating to the letter from Me Sénatus sent to the Minister of Justice declared "The Government Commissioner has no jurisdiction to question a senator of the Republic [...] Only a judge of Peace could ask me about any matter," confirming that he was complying with the decision of the Conference of Presidents, asking the Senators to not respond to requests of the Government Commissioner.
