Haiti - Politic : Details on the vote of the General Policy in the Senate

Tuesday, after several hours very turbulent, and the fear of withdrawal of the agenda the presentation of the PG, for a question of procedure [deadline for submitting the document to the senators], the presentation finally took place. To 11h45pm, the 20 senators present in Assembly to the Upper House, voted unanimously, the Statement of General Policy (GP) of the Prime Minister ratified, Laurent Lamothe.

8 Senators in protest, left the session before the vote, these are the senators : Andris Riché ; Jean William Jeanty ; Jean Baptiste Bien-Aimé ; Jean Charles Moïse ; François Anick Joseph ; Pierre Francky Exius ; Steven Benoit and Wetsner Polycape.

The General policy was voted thanks to the nanimous vote of 10 outgoing senators, whose term was to expire this yesterday Tuesday at midnight, these are the senators : Anacacis Jean Hector (PONT - West) ; Edmonde Supplice Beauzile (Alternative - Centre) ; Evallière Beauplan (Alternative - Northwest) ; Jean Rodolph Joazile (Alternative - Northeast) ; Joseph Lambert (INITE - Southeast) ; Kely Bastien (INITE - North) ; Michel Clérié (Alternative - Grande Anse) ; Nenel Cassy (INITE - Nippes) ; Youri Latortue (AAA- Artibonite) and Yvon Buissereth (INITE - South).

It only remaines the final stage of the Lower House to pass. The deputies will have to vote the General Policy of the new Government Martelly-Lamothe, before Laurent Lamothe officially becoming the 17th Prime Minister of Haiti [since 1988] succeeding to Dr. Garry Conille.
