Haiti - Politic : Lambert and Bastien excluded of INITE

After 3 days of reflection, following the assizes of 1, 2 and 3 March, in Mirebalais, the Executive Committee of the former presidential platform of René Préval, INITE, decided in a resolution dated May 25, to exclude the former senators Joseph Lambert and Kély C. Bastien of the political organization INITE.

"The Executive Committee has argued a principled position on what should be the attitude, that this political structure, is entitled to expect of elected members" stressing that the two parliamentarians concerned, "have ceased to attend meetings and activities of the Platform; cut off all relations with the Executive Committee and taken on political issues of the utmost importance, positions contrary to the guidelines or decisions given by the higher authorities of the platform [...] It is therefore evident that these members are deliberately undermine the fundamental interests of the organization" consequently the Committee concluded that "the Senators Joseph Lambert and Kély C. Bastien have lost their membership and the rights attached..."

Note that Joseph Lambert is currently Special Adviser to the President Martelly, while Kély Bastien, who claimed to have been foreseen for the post of Minister of Environment, [statement officially denied by the Presidency] has not seen his appointment confirmed in the new Government.
