Haiti - Health : Sophia Martelly in Washington for an international conference

Sophia Martelly, the First Lady of the Republic of Haiti, has left the country yesterday Sunday, for Washington DC to participate officially in the 19th International Conference on HIV-AIDS, where she intends to advocate for better coordination between major donors at the local level for global health, where all the health interventions are integrated; share with the world and especially the countries of the Caribbean zone; the good practices of Haiti in the prevention of disease; identify good practice especially in Prevention of HIV Transmission from Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT), which can be replicated in Haiti and finally to identify new partners and invite them to visit and support Haiti in the areas of health.

The First Lady believes that progress are still in view, in the fight against the spread of the disease, and therefore, she continues her pursuit of solutions to the various concerns of the Haitian people in care and prevention.
