Jean Monestime, the first Haitian-born American to serve on the Board of Commissioners of "Miami-Dade County" [following the elections of November 2, 2010], has been appointed to the electoral College for the next U.S. Presidential Election, informed us the Consul General of Haiti in Miami, Mr. François Guillaume II.

During a phone conversation, the Consul Guillaume II, as sent his congratulations to Mr. Monestime for this prestigious appointment within the U.S. Government, which honors the entire Haitian community.

Remember that this appointment comes just months before presidential elections in the United States, to be held in November.
