Wednesday, various Ministers, State Secretaries, Directors General and parliamentarians were present at the Administrative Complex of Les Cayes, to participate in the 5th Council of Government under the leadership of Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe.

During this Council, of Ministers and State Secretaries presented their projects for the third city of the country among other : Construction of 800 housing, and a hundred schools, of new hospital of the Office of Workers' Compensation Insurance, Sickness and Maternity (OFATMA) and a departmental hospital, the opening of community restaurants.

Some important announcements :

Mr. Klaus Eberwein, the Managing Director of the Fund of Economic and Social Assistance (FAES) presented his plan to create jobs, 15,000 new jobs in the short term.

Ms. Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, has shared its tourism plan of the Great South : Development of the cave Marie Jeanne and of beaches : Moisseau, Port Salut and Gelée. She also sought and obtained the expansion of the airport runway in Les Cayes to allow the landing of small aircraft from abroad and also requested the adoption of an order declaring protected zones, the natural sites of Southern Department.

Mr. Wilson Laleau, Minister of Trade and Industry announced that he wanted to establish, a mini industrial park, in each department to allow an economic recovery.

Mrs. Yanick Mézil, the Minister for the Status of Women and the Rights of Woman, has announced the construction of the house "Yvonne Rimpel" for women victims of domestic violence.

Mr. Jacques Rousseau, Minister of Public Works, Transport, Energy and Communications presented its contingency plan, with the creation of over 1,000 new jobs for the Southern Department.

Mr. Vanneur Pierre, the new Minister of Education spoke about the new school year, of free education, school canteens and transportation of students.

Mr. Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice and Public Security confirmed the construction of courts in the Southern Department from the end of August.

Mr. Ady Jean Gardy, Minister of Communications announced the project to create a national museum of the press.

Mrs. Florence Duperval Guillaume, he Minister of Public Health and Population has announced that his ministry would soon establish, a blood bank in Les Cayes.
