The commemorative activities of the International Youth Day 2012 [August 12], resulted in Haiti, to four days of festivities [from August 9 to 12], organized by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC), with the technical support of United Nations Fund for Population Activities on the theme "Youth standing for the recovery of Haiti".

The official launch ceremony, which took place on August 10, in the presence of René Jean Roosevelt, the Minister of Youth, of representatives of Government Youth, of Youth Ambassadors to CARICOM, was marked by a cultural event, during which young people were able to appreciate their talents through : dances, songs and a painting exhibition.

The Minister René Jean Roosevelt, recognized that Haiti's future depended on the youth and that the progress of the nation, can not, under any circumstances be conceived without a real taking into account of the inspiration and the full and effective participation of young people.

Among the other activities of these four days there were among others : a conference debate to allow participants to better understand the meaning of the participation of youth in the reconstruction process of Haiti ; a visit directed in the specialized centers of youth in conflict with the law ; an educational talk to encourage reflection in associations on issues that concern young people. A youth delegation, representing among others the Youth Parliament and the Government Youth, met the First Lady Sofia Martelly with whom, they discussed the problems and aspirations of youth. Members of the delegation delivered to Sophia Martelly documents on the work they do, in order to do of the First Lady, the Ambassador of the Haitian youth for 2012.

The last day of commemoration [Sunday, August 12 - International Youth Day], was marked by a Mass at the Place Jérémie, followed by a march of the Youth up to the Champ de Mars, a craft fair and a sociocultural show at the Municipal Palace to Delmas 33.
