Monday, August 13, following the cabinet reshuffle, Laurent Salvador Lamothe was installed in his new duty of Minister of Planning and External Cooperation. Laurent Lamothe is already at work to properly accomplish the mission of this Ministry, which consists to elaborate National Plans of economic and social development and improve the planning systems to enable the optimal use of available resources for a balanced economic and social development.

Aware of the challenge that awaits him at the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE) and of the many expectations of the population, Laurent Lamothe Salvador declared : "We will work hard to deliver results quickly. The Prime Minister is responsible for coordinating, Planning is responsible for implementation." After a site visit and an encounter with staff from the MPCE the new Minister found "that the team has a good knowledge of the records of the institution."

The new number 1 of MPCE, has promised to quickly develop the framework of coordination of the External Cooperation as well as a cell, which will be responsible to make respect the priorities set.

Speaking to his new team, Laurent Lamothe informed them : ""I do not have time to work, we want quick results based on objectives," recalling to his collaborators, that the mandate to work is short and that it is imperative to leave the traces of a job well done, up to requirements of Government Martelly-Lamothe.
