Haiti - Tourism : The Tourism Minister on tour in the South of country (UPDATE)

This Saturday, September 8, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, undertook an extensive tour in the South where she visited three tourist areas. The public beaches of Morisseau and Gelée, the region of Côtes-de-Fer were the main sites concerned by the analyzes and findings of the Ministry.

After Aquin, on Monday, September 3, 2012 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-6571-haiti-tourism-launch-of-work-of-tourism-development-plan-south.html Ms. Villedrouin went during this weekend in Côtes-de-Fer in order to meet the members of civil society, local authorities and the technical team working of the Ministry working on the Tourist development plan of Pole South. This meeting was an opportunity for the population and the authorities of the region to present, to the technical team from the Ministry and to the Minister, their views in relation to the development plan.

Before going in Côtes-de-Fer, the Minister went to Gelée to see the progress of development works of this famous Haitian beach.

The Minister Villedrouin also met on the morning of 8 September, some regional authorities and representatives of an association managing the public beach of Morisseau with which she engaged of discussions about the possibility of redevelopment of this beach, which attracts thousands of people from Diaspora and of various departments of the country during the periods of festivities.

The Development is part of the four priority areas of intervention of the Ministry of Tourism. Redevelopment work have already been committed or undertaken on various tourist sites of the country such as : Saut d’Eau, the observatory of Boutillier, the displacement of Kiosk of flowers Saint Pierre to Pétion-Ville, etc...
