This is the second time this month, that the city of Cap-Haïtien is the seat of demonstrations. After the anti-government demonstration organized by Senator Moïse Jean-Charles and the political activist Pierrot Augustine, who brought together thousands of people in Cap-Haitien, Wednesday, September 12, this Friday, September 21, thousands of demonstrators took to the streets once again.

According to Carl Henry Boucher, the Departmental Director, on the night of Thursday to Friday, clashes made 3 wounded, two by bullets and a policeman after of throwing of bottles and confirmed, the climate of tension that prevailed in the city.

Friday, following an appeal launched by local members of the opposition and of organizations of civil society, thousands of people hostile to the current administration Martelly-Lamothe, took to the streets of Cap-Haitien. Barricades of burning tires were erected on some streets of the town, especially near the neighborhoods of La Fossette, Samaria and Cité Lescot. Several areas were blocked by the crowd of demonstrators and the traffic was impossible.

Incidents erupted after that government supporters in a cons-demonstration, threw stones and bottles on the procession of demonstrators in the neighborhood of Cité Lescot, who in turn were seen tearing "pink bracelets" symbol of support to the President Martelly, from the arms of passersby who wore them...

The National Police of Haiti and the Minustah fired into the air and sent tear gas, to disperse the demonstrators, creating a panic in the population.

The demonstrators chanted slogans against : the policy of government Martelly-Lamothe ; the price increases : the laxity of the authorities face the economic crisis ; the bad governance accusing the Presidency to encourage corruption ; and the government to be responsible for the worsening of economic and social problems of the country...

Following the 24-hour strike, strongly followed, which paralyzed the city of Les Cayes, Thursday, September 14, punctuated by unfortunate incidents involving among others, the citizen Gabriel Fortuné, Les Cayes woke up Friday in the smoke of burning barricades of tires, some of which had been erected in the night. The demonstrators were protesting against the high cost of living, but rumors suggest that this protest could be caused by the removal of Étienne France, the Departmental Delegate... No casualties were reported.

In Miragoâne, in the department of Nippes, we were informed that hundreds of people took to the streets to protest also against the against the rising cost of living and the unemployment. The protesters launched slogans hostile to the President Martelly and his Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe that they make responsible for all evil...
