Haiti - Tourism : Strengthening of the hospitality training

Monday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism had a meeting with executives of the hotel school, around the implementation of the new curriculum of training and of a evaluation program of teachers in the teaching of the hospitality sector in Haiti, in collaboration with the Institute of Tourism and Hotel du Québec. The implementation of the new Curriculum of training ; the evaluation of teachers ; the construction of a new area of ​​training (practice) ; young people in training abroad and the establishment of an advisory board the level of the school hotel school, etc... were on the agenda. The initial and continuing training is part of the main fields of activity of the Ministry of Tourism alongside the regulations, promotion and development.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Tourism, proceeded to the signing of an agreement between the Ministry of Tourism and the "Pan American Confederation of Schools of Hotel Management, Catering and Tourism" (CONPEHT), which is one of most representative confederations of School of Tourism and Hospitality of America, with representation in 20 countries across 70 schools associated.

The objective of this agreement is to promote actions of direct cooperation between the two institutions [Ministry of Tourism-CONPEHT] in the fields of education, research, professional practice, university and awareness.

That same day, the Minister also met with the Chilean Mariano Fernández Amunátegui, Special Representative of the Secretary General of the UN in Haiti, to explore the opportunities of collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and the Minustah , in some projects in Cap Haitian (North) and Jacmel (Southeast).
