Following the closure of the Consulate of the United States on 25 and 26 October 2012, in a note the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince inform the general public that after the passage of Sandy, all nonimmigrant visa appointments previously set for 25 and 26 October 2012, are rescheduled.

Those with confirmed appointments for October 25 and 26 will be contacted by the Consular section to reschedule their appointments. Those with confirmed appointments who have not been contacted by the non-immigrant visa section should email PaPNIVSandy@state.gov

Please bring your original confirmation page to the interview. If your situation is urgent or you are unable to come for your rescheduled appointment, please write PaPNIVSandy@state.gov and explain the nature of your emergency.

The Consular Section will not admit anyone with appointments for October 25 and 26 other than at their new confirmed appointment time. Applicants who arrive at the Consular Section outside of their new appointment time without confirmation will not be admitted, concludes the note.
