The President Michel Martelly will travel to Spain on Friday to participate in the XXII Ibero-American Summit (XXII Cumbre Iberoamericana de Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno) to be held in Cádiz, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the first Spanish Constitution (1812), in which Haiti will participate as a guest.

The Head of State will take advantage of this event to strengthen bilateral relations with Latin American countries present at the international meeting and promote Haiti as a destination for foreign investment.

All Latin American leaders will be present in the summit, with the exception of President Hugo Chavez (Venezuela), Raul Castro (Cuba) and Federico Franco (Paraguay) who have expressed their intention not to participate in this XXII Summit as well as Cristina Fernández, President of Argentina, for health reasons.
