Haiti - Diplomacy : Olden Polynice, appointed Roving ambassador for Haiti

Thursday during a ceremony at the National Palace, President Michel Martelly has officially named former NBA player, Olden Polynice, Roving ambassador of Haiti.

The Head of State said to believe in the willingness of new Ambassador, to continue to help him to project a new image of Haiti. "The appointment of our friend and compatriot, Olden Polynice, as Roving ambassador of Haiti, is a way to thank him and give him the possibility of contributing to the struggle of our Government, to provide a better life to the population, by inviting investors to come to Haiti."

Olden Polynice, moved, thanked the Head of State and promised to be at the height of his title of Roving ambassador "I want and I will support the President Martelly. We have many projects to achieve, among them the construction of a Gymnasium, which will be a large sports center where young people can train and learn healthy," informed Mr. Polynices.

Olden Polynice, is a Haitian former basketball player, born November 21, 1964 in Port-au-Prince, who played center for the Seattle SuperSonics, Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings, and Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association.
