Christela Jacques, 1.77 m, 52 kg, 19 years old, a student at College Académique Moderne in Petion-ville, was chosen Miss Haiti 2012, to represent Haiti at the Miss Universe 2012 competition, which will be held on December 19 at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Our new Miss Haiti, succeeds to Anedie Azael [2011] and Sarodj Bertin [2010].

This year, Miss Haiti was not elected but chosen by Magali Febles [holder of the license of Miss Haiti] and Nadia Pressage [Responsible for organizing the competition]. "We wanted to do something special, but the Carnival of Flowers and the lack of availability of Magali, prevented usto make the whole process," explained Nadia Pressage, adding that during the "Haiti Fashion Week" [8 to 11 November 2012], she made a casting and retained twenty young women. Magali Febles selected 3 of them and Christela Jacques was the final choice.

For her part, our new Miss Haiti declared "We speak of Miss Universe 2012 ! I could never be happier [...] I will work hard during this month of preparation, to be worthy and well represent my country"

In 2013, Miss Haiti 2012, will participate in the election of a "Miss Continente Americano 2013" (Miss America 2013).

After the competition of Miss Universe 2012, Christela Jacques announced its intention to pursue her studies in tourism administration, as she says, "Haiti, have a future" wishing, a new image for its country.
