Haiti - Politic : The President Martelly met the Haitian diaspora in Japan 08/12/2012 10:34:37
Thursday, the President Michel Martelly, accompanied by his wife Sophia Martelly, met at the Salon Latino American of the Embassy of Haiti, in Tokyo, in the presence of Pierre Richard Casimir, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wilson Laleau, Minister of Commerce, of the Ambassador of Haiti in Tokyo, Ralph Latortue, and Gregory Mevs, Co-Chair of the Presidential Advisory Council for Economic Development and Investment (CCPDEI), fifty members of the Haitian community in Japan (mostly students). The possibilities of integration of Haitians at the end of their studies, their integration into the Japanese community and the impacts of Haitian projects of the development of Haiti were discussed. In addition, the Head of State, urged his compatriots to develop projects, that take into account Haiti, to enable the country to benefit from their knowledge. The President also had instructed the Embassy of Haiti, to support young Haitians in Japan, for, on the one hand, a better integration in this country and secondly, in the development of projects that contribute to Haiti's recovery.
