Haiti - Politic : Expansion of the Joint Bilateral Commission

According to the Dominican Vice-President, Enrique Ramirez, the governments of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, will expand the members of the Joint Bilateral Commission (CMB), with the inclusion of entrepreneurs of the two countries in order to improve the investment climate and business between the two nations and that, at the next meeting in February .

For its part, the Dominican government will include in the Commission, three or four local businessmen. Ramirez estimated that the alliance between businessmen of the two countries will create jobs, contribute to the reduction of Haitian migration to the Dominican Republic.

Thursday, Dominican President, Danilo Medina, met at the National Palace, the Haitian entrepreneurs Gilbert and Gilbert Bigio owners of the GB Group, and of all the Texaco stations operating in the country.

Following this visit, Ramirez explained that these entrepreneurs had promised to the President Medina, they will meet with President Michel Martelly, for the inclusion of Haitian entrepreneurs in the Commission "The most important of this meeting, is that they have proposed to the President to work together, to improve relationships Dominicano-Haitian, particularly regarding investment, based on the idea that the union of entrepreneurs Haitians and Dominicans, will allow to initiate an economic dynamics."

Dominican Ambassador in Port-au-Prince, Ruben Silié Valdez confirmed that the Dominican President, Danilo Medina will make an official visit to Haiti in February, adding that the date and agenda of the visit of Dominican President should be arrested soon.
