Haiti - Tourism : Training of 293 young people in the hospitality industry

As part of the improvement of the quality of the tourist reception in the north of the country, the Ministry of Tourism has organized for 10 days, a training session for the benefit of 293 young employees in the hospitality industry of Cap-Haïtien.

This training for members of staff of hotels of Cap-Haïtien, coincides with the holding of National Carnival, fall in the policy of "Continuing Education" of Ministry, aimed at providing a better product to tourists.

The training was based on the definition and the types of tourism, the professionalism, ethics and technical aspects such as : household staff "House Kipping", Bar-Restaurant service etc... were also addressed, explained Daniel Denys, the Head of Training at Ministry which emphasizes that such teaching in tourism, brings a lot of change in the lives of beneficiaries and in the development of tourism in the North.

In addition, some B&B owners (guesthouse), that are now available to host the revelers, followed a part of this training focused primarily on hospitality, cleanliness, safety, privacy, dialogue, information,vailability and the respect to give to visitors.

The same training was also organized in the southern region, in favor of more than 300 young people in the tourism sector and the program continues at the Hotel School of Port-au-Prince, informed Daniel Denys.
