Thursday on the sidelines of her participate to the HVS Caribbean Hotel Investment Conference & Operations Summit (CHICOS 2013), which was held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, on 7 and 8 November 2013, the Haitian delegation led by Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, met a group of potential investors to which the project Destination Ile-à-Vache was presented.

The Minister of Tourism also had a meeting with the director of Viva Wyndham all inclusive Resorts an Italian hotel chain, which has a total of 8 hotels in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and the Bahamas. During the meeting the Minister presented the strategic development plan of Côtes de Fer.

Thereafter she met the Chinese construction company CCA Bahamas Ltd, which is building a touristic project of $3.2 billion in Bahamas, as well as Dr. Adam Wu of the Chinese agency in tourism and investment. Ms. Villedrouin discussed about the investment opportunities in Haiti for the Chinese banks and explored ways to promote tourism, to capture some of the Chinese tourists, who will move en masse to the Bahamas in late 2014.
