Thursday, within the framework of the cooperation with UNESCO, the Ministry of Tourism organized a meeting around the project Museum of Carnival of Jacmel. Participated in this working session, executives of the Studies Unit and Programming of the Ministry, headed by Andy Durosier, executives of the Financial Administration of the Ministry, led byRenel Sinous, Ms. Dithny Joan Raton, Departmental Director of Tourism South East, Ms. Carola Paredes, the Technical Assistant in Heritage and Culture of the Spanish Cooperation and Emmanuelle Robert, the UNESCO Representative.

We learned that the folder of technical rules governing the architecture of the museum, designed by the Spanish firm "Patrimonio 48" will be available soon and a Memorandum of Understanding setting out the legal and financial technical conditions of the project, will be signed between the parties at the end of November 2013 .

Discussions also focused on the infrastructure, equipment and the educational component of the project. We should recall that one of the objectives of the museum is its educational role and the promotion of its heritage for the widest possible audience both locally, nationally and internationally.

A steering committee involving all regional and national project partners, will be created next month. In addition, the Departmental Directorate of Tourism South East and the Regional Directorate of Culture, collaborates with its partners (Mayor of Jacmel, Spanish Cooperation, UNESCO) on the formation of a unit of project management.
